Special Report: The Delay...
DUE TIMES would like to apologize the delay in posting experienced around late 2004 till early 2005.
In an attempt to cover a story on panda bears that was spotted in the North Pole, our reporters left for the North Pole in search for those pandas but unfortunately...they never returned. That was why there was a delay and we are terribly sorry for that.
A diary of one of our reporters, however, was found by one of the eskimos in the North Pole...
May they (our reporters) rest in peace.
Start:
JUNE 30TH
1100hrs
TOUCHDOWN at a private airport somewhere in Canada. We are very tired. The weather here is so cold that my nose froze. Most of us are breathing through our mouths. John died due to severe flu. We threw him among some bushes and continued our journey to the coast where we will be taking a ship to the North Pole. Greatness requires sacrifice!!
JUNE 30TH
1800hrs
FINALLY, the sea is in sight. Very nice...so blue. And clear. Unlike the waters of East Coast Beach...so murky. The greenery has been minimal. I can barely stand the weather. i wonder how the pandas are able to survive. Amazing.
JUNE 30TH
1845hrs
OK, we are at the beach now, but no ship in sight. Wonder if we are at the right place.
JUNE 30TH
2000hrs
STILL no ship in sight...
JUNE 30TH
2300hrs
STILL no ship in sight. It is dark so we set up fire. Drew's clothes caught fire. I tried dousing it by throwing water on his clothes but didn't realise it was car fuel. He burned to death while the rest of us watched as we didnt know what to do. Only when he was charred did we remember that we were at the coast. The sea was only a few feet away....oh well....
(Haha i can have the panda story for myself...greatness require sacrifice!!)
JUNE 30TH
2315 hrs
REALISED one of my friends died freezing. Poor guy. We decided to use him as fuel for the fire.
From five, now there's only Mr Khoo and me.
JUNE 31st
0800hrs
DAMN we fell asleep. Still no ship in sight. I thought i would call the organizer but realised we burnt the only phone which was with Drew.
JUNE 31st
0900hrs
WE are staring into the sea not knowing what to do. Think we'll stare somemore.
JUNE 31st
1100hrs
SEE a boat at the distance. Think it is coming towards us.
JUNE 31st
1130hrs
BOAT is a sampan. The old man paddling it said that we had to row to the North Pole ourselves. Damn the organizers.
JUNE 31st
1200hrs
STILL at sea and rowing. Our supply of pizzas is dwindling.
JUNE 31st
2000hrs
Reached the tip of the ice continent. I had to kill Mr Khoo for food. I told him we had to catch fish for food and that we had no rod. I persuaded him to swim and catch the fish by hand. "Forgot" to tell him that the water is 2 degrees Celsius. I had frozen Khoo for dinner.
JUNE 31st
2045hrs
FINISHED my dinner. Start my journey to find the pandas!!!
End of Diary.
After this point, there were a few torn pages.......and a paw mark......
Panda?
Reader's decide...
