this day

ok it's actually this day and a few days before.

how to be smooth with the interviewing media
the shy\/neux guide.

1) Think of possible questions that will be asked and think thoroughly for the answers.
For example: "Why did you choose this course of study?"

2) They will not specify the type of media so be prepared for all kinds of media such as television, radio and newspaper.

3) Wear presentable clothes and avoid accessories that make you look like a "mat" or "beng" and avoid hairstyles that make you look like you just got out of bed.

4) Smile and don't look like you've got a rat biting your toe. if you're wearing oakleys', try to make your air time look like an advertisement.

5) Don't be surprised if they shove a camera in front of your face and don't even think of running to that nice and breezy exit door, especially when you're answering the questions. There is no way out.

6) If the media is in your mother tongue, practice it beforehand to avoid looking like a duck that's trying to chirp.

yep... the 6 things i did not do.

i've always been media-phobic and the experience hadn't change me. my wish for the whole of singapore to blackout just before my face appeared didn't materialize...and all i could do was lie down on the carpet in a guinness world book of records winning contortion with my ears and eyes covered, cringing from my own face on tv.

ahh unmistakeable signs of media-phobia.
